ABOUT

I was born and raised in Louisiana (geaux Tigers) and now live in Mississippi with my sweet husband and two adorable children. Besides being a wife and a mother, I am also a licensed master social worker (LMSW) who works full-time at my local children’s hospital. Abuse, sickness, and child death are things I encounter in my job; these experiences play a role in my life and in my faith which I will share along the way.
Domestic violence is also a personal part of my story that the Lord has used to shape my path and teach me things about His character I would not have learned otherwise. So if you are here and that is part of your present and/or past, I want to welcome you with the biggest hug. I pray this blog can be a place of hope and healing. I also pray it fosters forgiveness for yourself and your abuser.
I realize abuse, child death, and domestic violence are heavy non-joyful topics. Maybe you are asking yourself, why in the world is joyful in the title of this blog? Well, sweet friend, I will tell you why, because JOY is not a feeling dependent on our circumstances. Instead, JOY is an attribute of a heart that has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ; apart from Him joy simply cannot exist.
